Goodbye MN HPNA!
Posted 2 months ago by Megan Lifto
Hi everyone,
This week I attended an informational session hosted by HPNA national regarding HPNA chapters. For years, chapter leaders have reported that they cannot continue to cycle through the same leadership roles to sustain their chapter. In addition, there has been a decline in in-person and virtual attendance at chapter-hosted meetings and events.
After receiving this feedback from chapter leaders, the HPNA Board of Directors has voted to transition HPNA Chapters to HPNA State Communities, and to close all chapters by the end of this year.
HPNA State Communities will add more flexibility for us when organizing events and gatherings. You will no longer have to pay chapter dues, and chapter leadership will no longer be required to manage paperwork, annual reports, financial statements, etc. Instead, these groups will be self-led; they will not have a board of directors. All participants can be as involved as they want to be.
Additionally, with this change comes a new online community for our state. This will allow us all to connect and network with individuals in our area. HPNA has set up communities for each state, so if you would like to join multiple state communities, you are welcome to.

It's been an honor to serve as President of the Minnesota chapter of HPNA this past year. I thank our current and past officers for their tremendous service and dedication.
Take care,
